A Small Double Buggy That's Easy to Push One-Handed and Carry Up and Down Stairs
This is the double stroller that you need if you want a lightweight, easy-to-push one-handed stroller. It's also simple to carry up and down the stairs.
It comes with two fixed seats and offers the possibility of up to 30 seating configurations (including triple!). Both seats feature UPF 50+ canopies and peekaboo windows.
Size
The Joovy Kooper X2 is a double stroller that is side-by-side and can hold two children up to 50 lbs each. The seats are larger bigger than those of other strollers with lightweight designs and the canopy comes with nice-sized SPF 50 sunshades with windows that peek out. Other key features include a self-standing basket with capacity of 25 pounds, cup holders for one parent and swing-away bars that help children get in and out of their seats. This is a great choice for suburban and urban families. It also comes with a newborn-friendly the double set which includes an infant wedgie that can be used to lie flat in a position.
Weight
The weight of a double buggy is among the most important factors that determine the ease to push. A lighter buggy is easier to lift and carry, but might not have enough suspension to handle bumps and uneven terrain.
Be sure to check the specifications of each model carefully before buying. Some double buggies come with an upper limit on the weight of the seats and others have a frame limit. Some double buggies are able to be folded with seats removed, making them lighter and more compact. This is useful if you are limited on storage space.
The tri-fold doubles tend to be the lightest of models since only one hand is needed to lift the lower and back sections. They're also a bit smaller than side-byside buggies, making them ideal to fit through doorways. The iCandy Geo 3 tri-fold double is one of most lightweight on the market. It can comfortably fit twins or a toddler and baby.
Tandem buggies begin as one pushchair, but they come with adapters that allow you to add a carrycot, a second seat or car seat which makes them a great option for growing families. Some, such as the iCandy Orange offer over 30 different seating options, so they can grow along with your family with a third child. Doubles are heavier than trifolds, however, because the weight is evenly distributed, they are much easier to move around.
Folding
The most effective double buggies for young children fold up in minutes. This feature is well-loved by our Lab experts since they can fit the buggies in the back of their cars and save space when not being used. The Joovy Kooper X2 for example has straps that can be pulled up over each seat and the whole thing folds down. Even our oldest testers were able to fold the tri-fold with only one hand.
The lightweight Delta Children LX side by side is another excellent option for double buggie. Its lightness is a plus but also the features it has: large pop-out canopies that include SPF 50 protection and a peekaboo window; swing-away bars to help youngsters get into and out of seats and reclining chairs and leg rests for toddlers.
Manoeuvrability
When selecting a compact double stroll, it's important to think about its maneuverability. This includes the ease for both children to be able to ride in the buggy. Some pushchairs are more efficient than others at this and include the iCandy's "cinema chair" (where the back is elevated).
This is where narrow tandem buggies and side-by-side designs can come in useful. However, they can be a bit longer overall and so may be difficult to maneuver through doors.
The UPPAbaby Vista 2 pushchair is an excellent example, considering that it's a comparatively compact model that can accommodate two additional seats and - most importantly - a pillion board that can accommodate a third child.
Other smaller, three wheeled models, like the phil&teds Dot are also incredibly agile. This is especially the case with its clever "dot kit" that transforms it into an inline buggie. This has a couple of different seating configurations that are suitable for children of different ages. It also allows the front seat to rotate to face the parents for optimum face-to-face time. It also has a great storage basket that is easy to fold. This is a great solution for families that are growing.

Comfort
With compact tandem strollers or versatile side-by-side buggies, parents can keep an eye on both children at the park, grocery store or any other place. These lightweight doubles can hold two children, with a maximum weight of 50 pounds each. They also come with pop-out canopy which can be extended enough to give shade. They also come with convenient cup holders for the seatback that are reversible, as well as one cup holder for parents, plus a large underseat basket.
If you're beginning with a growing family, add the double kit from phil&teds to your dot buggy to transform it into an inline double, ideal for toddlers and newborns alike. The innovative 3-wheel design offers an excellent maneuverability and simple kerb pop. The Sling seat is a fantastic newborn-ready choice for ultimate face-to-face bonding. You can easily swap out the sling seat with an infant car adapter once your children grow older. You're now ready for your next adventure with luxurious travel bag and rain cover included!
